Carne Asada Rides Again

If you're not lucky enough to live in Phoenix, try this homemade version of Carne Asada. Brian found it on Actually, I'm sure we could find a good carniceria around our house, but he was up for a challenge and wanted to make it himself.

Carne Asada marinade
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
1/3 c. lime juice
1/3 c. orange juice
1 c. water
2 Tblsp. peeled garlic, crushed
1 tsp. white pepper
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. Mexican oregano
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 orange, sliced
1/4 bunch cilantro, chopped, no stems
Seal all in a plastic bag with meat. Marinate overnight.
makes enough marinade for 6 lbs. meat
